EVA 1 Meter Wide Solar Panel Encapsulant (ethylene vinyl acetate)

Now take EVA material and carefully lay it over the solar cells aligning all the edges. Once aligned use a small razor knife to cut two very small holes for the tab wire to pass through to the junction block. Make sure wires are separated and will never be able to touch and short the panel out. Once you have the EVA laid out you need to use a hot air gun to adhere it to the glass and solar cells (This is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT step). Heat a six inch square area of the EVA until it becomes crystal clear. Once it is clear place a one gallon zip lock freezer bag that has been filled 3/4 full of water over the EVA that was just heated. Then go to another section of the solar panel and heat a different 6" square of the EVA until crystal clear and then move the water bag and place it over this new section of heated EVA. Repeat this procedure until all EVA has been heated and adheared to panel. Place silicone caulk around the entire perimeter of the solar panel making sure that you cover the edge of the EVA as well to insure a water tight seal. Allow to dry overnite.
